Unfinished Work

Hello, I am a young artist and I have had no lessons or classes but I wish I could find a good one!
This piece was inspired by my filly's sire. He is the most beautiful horse I have ever seen in person, so naturally I always wanted to paint him. This piece is very far from being finished but I thought I would share it to see what feedback or advice I could be given.
It is much harder than people think to figure out which colours to use when it comes to horses, or I'm sure many different paintings. Using blues, and purples, and reds as undertones I think creates a whole different realistic look, rather than using flat pre-mixed colours ready to use from the tube. Be creative, try things that you wouldn't think would normally work. Experiment, that is what art is all about.
Thank you for reading!
